Pritkin tripled website traffic using Pinterest

Pritikin recognized Pinterest’s untapped potential and wanted to significantly increase these metrics to generate more leads and bookings.

The challenge

Pritikin Wellness Retreat, a renowned longevity clinic offering science-based health programs, approached our agency two years ago seeking to boost their organic presence and drive more qualified traffic from Pinterest to their website. At the time, they had a modest following of 1,100 and averaged 9,000 monthly views. Pritikin recognized Pinterest’s untapped potential and wanted to significantly increase these metrics to generate more leads and bookings.

Objective

Our primary goals in working with Pritikin were to:

  • Grow their Pinterest following to over 5,000 within 24 months
  • Increase monthly viewers to 25,000+
  • Boost repins, clicks, and overall engagement with Pritikin’s content
  • Drive more phone and online inquiries about Pritikin’s wellness programs

The strategy

After a thorough audit of Pritikin’s Pinterest presence, audience, and competitors, we developed a comprehensive two-year growth strategy:

  1. Keyword Optimization
We researched the top keywords and phrases related to longevity, wellness retreats, and healthy living. We then updated Pritikin’s profile, board titles, and pin descriptions to naturally incorporate these terms and improve discoverability in Pinterest search.
  2. Content Refresh
Working with Pritikin’s marketing team, we created a library of new, visually compelling pins highlighting their unique campus, renowned experts, delicious cuisine, and success stories. Each pin was crafted with clear calls-to-action driving to key pages on pritikin.com.
  3. Pinning Cadence and Scheduling
Using Tailwind, we developed a daily pinning schedule of 5-10 pins across Pritikin’s most relevant boards and applicable group boards. This consistent activity kept Pritikin’s content circulating and attracted new followers.
  4. Leveraging Trends and Seasons
By monitoring Pinterest trends around health, wellness, and self-care, we were able to capitalize on timely topics and position Pritikin’s content for maximum exposure. Seasonal pins around New Year’s resolutions, spring renewal, and summer slimdowns performed especially well.
